Today we left Exuma Park. The photo above is Seas the Day taken by one of our traveling companions, Joanne on Avalon. The water was incredibly calm and the photo almost looks unreal.
Everything in the park is protected, so we have seen HUGE lobster, large amounts of conch, and snorkeling near coral has been fantastic. The weather has been ideal, in the low 80’s. We haven’t had strong winds or rain for over a week. We also haven’t had Internet/e-mail access for almost a week since we left Warderick Wells. Our phone service has been spotty or non-existent. However, somehow Jennifer has been able to call me every night on my Bahamas phone. There must be something about calling from a strong signal in the States to a weak signal here that works. I’m disappointed in the MagicJack phone signal, but perhaps that will become better when we have a stronger Internet signal.
We’ve gone snorkeling every day. Yesterday, we went to a cave on Rocky Dundas which was unbelievable . It is actually said to be more impressive than Thunderball Cave at Staniel Cay, where the James Bond movie was made. The six of us were the only ones in it. There are huge stalagmites and stalactites in it. There are several large openings at the top.

While we feel a bit like the Beverly Hillbillies, we are hanging our laundry outside. Actually, it’s great as the clothes dry very quickly and smell wonderful.
We met for dinner on Ultra and had our catch plus beans and rice, sweet potatoes and fresh out of the oven puffy ginger snaps and sourdough bread made by JoAnne (Ultra). Tomorrow we’ll motor a few miles to Rat Cay, which is quite near Sampson Cay. Sampson Cay has a small store, a marina, and Internet access. Click here for more photos of Pipe Cay.
