Conch Eating and Davit Fixing
Tuesday, January 12, 2010

When all of this work was done, we went back to Ultra to enjoy the fruits of our, well really Bill’s, labor. Lunch was conch bisque, conch salad, and conch fritters. Mmmmmm. Thanks to Joanne for the delicious meal, which also included fresh sourdough bread.
As we were eating, Mark and Joanne on Avalon came into the Norman Cay. We had all been together in Bimini, but they got behind us and “stuck” in Nassau for a few extra days.
The weather looks good for leaving and going to our next stop, Hawksbill Cay tomorrow. It’s supposed to be the most beautiful island in the Bahamas, at least according to the guidebooks.
Norman Cay has been a nice place to ride out the strong winds but after walking and riding bikes and taking a few dinghy rides, there isn’t much left to do. The winds have been very strong, more than 30 kts. so we were all grateful that none of the boats anchored here drifted. Click here for more photos of Norman’s Cay.
