There are numerous small beaches on Norman’s Cay and we waded in the water for awhile. There were lots of conch shells on the beaches and we added more to our collection.
Yesterday we went conch hunting with JoAnne and Bill. They have wetsuits and equipment to hunt and catch the conch, so we provided the station wagon. The winds were still very strong so we all got wet, but were rewarded with a large pail of conch. Tonight we’ll eat the fruits of that labor on Ultra.
We continue to make water and our watermaker is performing well. That’s good because it’s time to do some laundry.
It looks like we’ll be leaving Norman’s Cay tomorrow or Wednesday. This is a peaceful, beautiful stop, but due to the Norther it’s been a rocky few days. Everyone’s anchors have held, but I suspect most of the cruisers here have spent some hours awake at night, as we have, wondering if we were about to start drifting. The current is very strong also.
