Christening Ceremony
This evening we had a christening ceremony to name Seas the Day. See more pictures and the christening script on the photos page.
We have been watching the progress of Tropical Storm Hanna, and it appears to be heading toward northern Florida. Hopefully the weather will be good enough to start our sailing class THIS Saturday. Hurricane Gustav is no longer affecting the weather here, other than some stronger than normal winds.
We have had several days of relaxation onboard as no one is here working on anything. We still have a rather long list of items CatCo will be repairing, but yesterday and today have been quiet. Mark was able to install six fire extinguishers and we visited the Galleria Mall. We had dinner again at the QuarterDeck and then had the christening ceremony.
This week, we will visit local lumber yards to try to find some matching wood to build the office. After receiving ridiculous estimates, Mark will build the shelves and desk himself. We’ll also contact some watermaker companies so we can get that installed after we return from our class.
Mark pours champagne over the bow to appease King Neptune and Jan lays a branch of green leaves on the deck to ensure safe returns.
