We were doing so well. No “Project Runway.” No “Dancing With the Stars.” No “Boston Legal.” No Science Channel (Mark). No Lifetime Movie Network (Jan). No “Top Chef.” No “House Hunters.” Actually, we didn’t even miss these shows. We went 2+ months with no TV. It was fine. We didn’t even have withdrawal symptoms. Then........our friend Alice invited us over to watch TV one night when Gavin was flying to South America. (He’s a pilot for American Airlines.) We played “Mexican Train” (domino game) while it was on and barely watched. But, the next night, there we were again, sitting in front of their TV.
We had a TV on the boat, still packed in the box from the trip here from Minnesota. It was a 32 inch Toshiba which Peter had given me for Christmas. It seemed like a good size for the boat when it was on a TV stand in the sunroom in Minnesota. However, one we got on the boat, we realized it was too big for the saloon. We mailed it back to Minnesota to be stored and bought a 26 inch Toshiba. It fits perfectly. Or course, we can’t leave it on this counter, so Mark will install an arm on a cabinet and attach the TV so it can swing out. Hopefully we can control ourselves. The good news is all we can get once we leave the marina is local stations. None of the above mentioned “favorites” are on ABC, NBC or CBS.
